The most common reason a wheel bearing will fail is due to wear and tear. If you can hear noise from the wheel area or play/movement it could be a failing wheel bearing. If the bearing seal splits or becomes damaged, it can cause the grease to leak out and result in the wheel bearing being unlubricated. Worst case scenario your wheel bearing can split in two and result in your wheel to coming off!
